Gunmen Kidnap PDP Chieftain In Oyo
A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State, Benedict Akika has been abducted by gunmen.
Akika’s abduction was confirmed by the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Adewale Osifeso, on Thursday in Ibadan.
Osifeso said Akika was kidnapped on Tuesday evening from his residence in Olorunda Abba, Lagelu LGA of the state.
He added that an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
The spokesperson assured the public that updates will be provided after investigation.

“Investigation has commenced into the matter. Updates will be provided accordingly,” he said.
An eyewitness told NAN that the gunmen launched a coordinated attack on Akika’s residence and overpowered his security personnel.
“They overpowered his security personnel and whisked him away in a vehicle, leaving panic and confusion in the community,” the source was quoted as saying.
