Tension has gripped the student community in Osun State as Comrade Arogundade Salmah Abiodun, a former S General Secretary of the Students Union of Osun State College of Technology, Esa Oke, was reportedly abducted by gunmen on Thursday, December 21, along the Abuja-Lokoja expressway.
Osun Defender gathered that Salmah was returning home to Ede, Osun State, for the festive season, when she was abducted and is now being held captive, with her kidnappers demanding ₦100 million ransom for her release.
The news of her abduction has sparked an outpouring of concern and appeals for support on social media.
A close relative, Akinsola Olusola, took to Facebook to rally financial and moral support for Salmah’s release.
He described her as a compassionate and hardworking individual who dedicated herself to the welfare of others.
“This lady, Comr. Arogundade Salmah Abiodun, was kidnapped on the 21st of December on her way from Abuja. A ransom of ₦100 million has been demanded. Negotiation has been ongoing, but we urge individuals, groups, or society to assist with any amount to secure her freedom. No amount is too small,” Olusola wrote.
Friends and colleagues have also joined the campaign to save Salmah. Iletogun Omowunmi described her as a “kindhearted young woman” and pleaded for financial and prayer support.
