Gunmen Reportedly Kidnap Several Motorists, Passengers Near Military Barracks In Abuja
Fear gripped residents of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, as unknown gunmen launched a fresh attack, reportedly abducting several motorists and passengers near Abacha Barracks bypass in Guzape late on Tuesday night.
The daring operation, which occurred around 11:31 pm, has further heightened concerns over the deteriorating security situation in the nation’s capital.
Witnesses said the attackers, who struck with precision, blocked the road and whisked away their victims into nearby bushes, leaving behind abandoned vehicles.

Security sources confirmed that responding officers discovered a black Toyota Prado Land Cruiser with registration number Abuja RBC 900 SF, allegedly belonging to Hon. Shagala Samuel, and a Honda Civic with registration number RSH 181 TH.
It is suspected that the occupants of these vehicles were among those abducted.
Efforts to track down the assailants have so far proved abortive, as security operatives combed the surrounding areas but found no trace of the victims or their captors.
In response, the FCT Police Command has placed its Anti-Kidnapping Unit on high alert, vowing to intensify efforts to locate the victims and curb the rising wave of abductions in Abuja.
