Gunshots As Ododo Allegedly Smuggles Yahaya Bello Away From EFCC Arrest

There were heavy gunshots as Kogi State Governor Usman Ododo, reportedly smuggled his predecessor, Yahaya Bello, out of his building on Wednesday.

Osun Defender reports that officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had laid a siege on Bello’s residence to arrest him.

According to a report by DailyTrust, the security operatives reinforced with backup support from the Police and Department of State Services (DSS), after hours of being unable to secure their mission.

The report said the operatives were planning to forcefully arrest him before the arrival of Ododo.

The medium noted that as Ododo was leaving, reports filtered in that Bello was in his vehicle, forcing security operatives who had been on standby for hours to open fire.

Protesters, journalists, onlookers, and passersby were said to have scampered for safety during the shootout.
