Resident of Halleluyah Area, Osogbo Osun State Capital have appealed to the government to ensure the channelisation of Waterways in the community to tackle erosion problem in the area.
Mr Adebayo Adeniyi, one of the community leaders said the residents of the community have been trying to do their best to ensure the road is well channeled and whenever there is rain, the water would just wipe off the sound used to fill the holes, saying, this has been causing frustration among the people of the area.
According to him, the best solution to the problem is to get the drainage properly channeled.
He added that the channelisation of the waterways should be done first, so that if there is rain, the water will find its proper way, just as he enjoined government to ensure the reconstruction of the road so that the people heave a sigh of relief.
Also, Mr Folorunsho Femi said the road is too bad and the community needs government intervention urging the governments at both local and state levels to come to their aid in the interest of the people.
He added that the road needed to be properly channeled from the main road down to other community and they needs proper drainage.
Another resident, Mrs Aina said the road really needed to be touched, saying, the community has been suffering from it for a long time and it is the major road that links other communities.
He stressed that the area is highly populated and it will be good for the community if the road is tarred.
According to him, local government officials have visited the area severally promising the community that they will construct the road, but no construction work has been carried out in the area, though the landlords that have been trying their best to do the drainage.
She added that if the local government or state government can stand up to do it, it would be appreciated.
According to Mr Oluwatobiloba, the situation of the road has become an embarrassment and they have been expecting government to do the road all these while, unfortunately the road have not been tarred up till today.
She then appealed to the government to come and construct the road for the benefit of the community.
