Hoodlums, on Friday afternoon, at the Dogarawa axis of the Zaria-Kano expressway, attacked a BUA truck conveying cartons of spaghetti.

Dogarawa is a settlement located on the outskirts of Zaria along the expressway.

The incident, according to an eyewitness, occurred around 3.15 pm after the driver of the truck parked by the roadside to observe prayer.

He said that immediately after the driver parked, the hoodlums started carting away cartons of spaghetti.

The eyewitness said such an act had never occurred in the area since he had been trading there for more than 10 years, describing the incident as unfortunate and regrettable.

“Not a single cartoon of the spaghetti was left by the hoodlums on the truck,” the source added.

It was learnt that a police team deployed to the scene of the incident arrested five suspects.

It would be recalled that some hoodlums hijacked trailers loaded with foodstuffs in the Suleja area of Niger State last week, stealing bags of rice and other food items amidst widespread hardship in the country.

The trailers were said to be heading for Abuja from Kaduna when the thugs blocked the road and made burnfires on the highway.
