Senate President Godswill Akpabio has once again sparked controversy with his recent advice to Nigerians.
Akpabio, in a viral video, was seen and heard telling Nigerians to “eat free food wherever they see it”.

This comment comes at a time when Nigerians are grappling with economic hardships, partly due to President Bola Tinubu’s policies, such as the removal of fuel subsidies.
Akpabio, in the video, made the statement during plenary, with some people heard laughing at his comment.
Whenever, Nigerians have reacted to the comment by the Senate President, criticizing him for being insensitive.
@AnjolaoluwaFal1, wrote, “Very unfortunate statement because we’re the ones feeding you freely. Since there’s no more middle class, it’s either you are poor or stupendously rich, then who is going to feed who between the poor and poor masses.”

@Vinlaw72, said, “That man is a failure to Nigerian. Since I know this man he has never said any thing reasonable at all.”
This isn’t the first time he’s made similar remarks. In July, at the Niger Delta Ethnic Nationalities, Youths and Women Group Sensitisation Conference, he dismissed protests against economic hardship, saying he and other National Assembly members would be “eating” while protesters took to the streets.
