Governor, State of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola has urged youths to shun social vices, searching for “Miracle Money” and rather be hard working.
Aregbesola said this while addressing youths at the State Youth Summit tagged, “West 2040; Productivity, Prosperity and Peace.” at WOCDIF center in Osogbo, the State capital on Tuesday.
The State Governor also urged the youths from the six States in the western region to imbibe the spirit of adding values to the society through beneficial innovations.
“Discover yourself and plan the discovery to develop your space not through “Yahoo” or seeking “Miracle Money”. Work is not about getting money, it is about adding value to the society and education without critical thinking is nothing, so work to add value to your society.” He added.
In his speech, the Governor’s counterpart in Oyo State, Governor Abiola Ajimobi also charged the youths to be determined to succeed through hard work, adding that he washed corpses for eight years to sponsor his schooling in the United States.
Ajimobi who lauded Aregbesola for hosting the Youth summit, revealed that his state would be hosting the next youth summit.
“Hardwork is the only way to success, decide to succeed, be knowledgeable and well behaved and optimize the opportunities around you to get the much dreamed about Nigeria.
In their separate addresses, the representative of the Ogun State Government, Bashorun Adebola Adeife and the representative of the Ondo State Government, Mr Alfred Agboola implored the youths to be more productive.
Highlights of the programme included cultural displays and dramas by students from various government schools in the state.
