Health Insurance Has Become A Revolution – OHIS Exec. Sec.

The Executive Secretary, Osun Health Insurance Scheme (OHIS), Dr. Niyi Oginni has called on staff and management of the agency to work conscientiously and give maximum support, loyalty to newly-established agency.
Dr. Oginni stated this while declaring open a two-day training organized for the staff of OHlS in collaboration with the Health Finance Governance at Leisure Spring Hotel, Osogbo themed: “Job Description”.
According to him, OHIS is a revolution coming in to address the challenges of inequalities in distribution of the healthcare resources and access to service without hardship.
Aims and objectives of the training, according to him, is to adequately prepare OHIS staff for prompt efficient and effective performance of their duties and responsibilities as staffers of the agency.
He therefore, admonished the participants at the training to take full advantage of the opportunity given to them and make themselves relevant in their various departments.
He stressed further, that the training in concept of Health Financing, Health Insurance Operations and marketing of health insurance with the collaborative support of National Health Insurance Scheme and Health Finance Governance will be a continuous exercise.
Speaking earlier, OHIS Resource person, Dr. Godwin Okafor applauded the efforts and contributions of the Governor of the State of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola and the quick intervention of his administration towards the establishment of Osun Health Insurance Agency.
He emphasized the need to train and retrain the OHIS staff in order to be fully prepared for the task ahead of them, such as understanding the importance of the organizational structure for efficiency and responsiveness in the health insurance set-up.
He therefore implored the management of OHIS to abide by the organogram of the agency for free operational activities.
The Director of Planning, Research and Statistics, Dr. Olalere Adebisi in his closing remarks appreciated the Executive Secretary for approving the holding of Job Description training for OHIS staff in conjunction with Health Finance Governance.
Among those present at the training event were the staff of the Health Insurance Governance, Director of Program, Quality Assurance, Administrative and Supply, Finance and Account, and Director of Planning Research and Statistics.
