Heavy Flood Sweeps Away Student In Ondo

Motunrayo John, a junior Secondary School student of Mount Carmel Girls School, Ikare Akoko, the headquarters of the Ikare Akoko Local Government Area of Ondo State, has been swept away by a flood caused by a heavy downpour in the community.

It was gathered that the incident happened on Tuesday while the little girl was playing in Semusemu area of the town.

According to the source, the secondary school student accidentally slipped when she put her legs inside the water and was carried away by the heavy flood.

The mathematical set of the girl was recovered while searching for her after the rain.

Confirming the incident, the Divisional Police Officer in Ikare Akoko, Olatujoye Akinwande,  said the school principal, Ajoke Asiwaju, has reported the matter at the police station.

Olatujoye Akinwande added that the search and rescue operation had commenced.
