Heavy Security Presences At APC Secretariat As Oyetola, Adeoti, Lasun Battle For Gubernatorial Ticket

There is heavy security presence at the secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun ahead of the party’s primary election.
OSUN DEFENDER gathered the fierce battle for the sole ticket of the party between the Governor of Osun, Gboyega Oyetola and a former Secretary to the State Government, Moshood Adeoti, and former Deputy Speaker Hon. Lasun Yusuff.
The APC primary election is scheduled to hold on Saturday today.

The security presence may not be unconnected to the clashes that have been recorded in parts of the state over leadership crisis.

There are currently two factions of the APC in Osun — the Ilerioluwa Group is the faction loyal to Gboyega Oyetola, the governor, while The Osun Progressives (TOP) has the backing of Rauf Aregbesola, minister of interior and former governor of the state.

Both factions have been at loggerheads over control of the state chapter of the party.

On Monday, Aregbesola expressed his support for the governorship bid of Moshood Adeoti, a former secretary to the state government (SSG), while Oyetola is seeking reelection.

The Osun governorship election is scheduled to hold on July 16, 2022.
