Operatives of the Adamawa Police Command have arrested a 49-year-old herbalist, Suleiman Manzo, over allegation bordering on rape.
The arrested suspect, popularly called Suleiman Makeri, a resident of Mallam Nura ward in Numan town, was apprehended followed complaint of sexually abusing one of his clients, a 22-year-old woman who went to seek traditional medication.
According to the survivor, (name withheld), spent almost a week in a ward constructed for patients in the suspect’s residence, after administering a scent that made her unconscious.
After passing out, the herbalist sexually abused her.
The survivor added that after recovery, she realised that she had been sexually abused by the herbalist.
The suspect who claimed to specialise in curing typhoid, cancer, fractures and Jinn, admitted to administering herbs on his ‘patient’ resulted in her vomiting and the necessity of applying intoxicant scent and other herbs below her navel.

Spokesman of the Adamawa State Police Command (PPRO), SP Suleiman Nguroje said the State’s Commissioner of Police, CP Morris Dankwambo had directed that the case be transferred to State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation,
He added that upon completion, the suspect would be changed to court.
