Nigerian celebrity chef, Hilda Baci, has received her second Guinness World Record plaque for cooking the world’s largest pot of jollof rice.

According to Guinness World Records, Baci prepared 8,780 kilogrammes (19,356 pounds) of jollof rice during a cookout held in Lagos in September, officially setting a new world record.

The achievement marks her second global recognition, following her first Guinness title in May 2023 for completing a 93-hour, 11-minute cooking marathon.

With both records, Baci becomes Nigeria’s first chef to hold multiple Guinness World Records.

Celebrating the milestone on Instagram on Thursday, Baci shared photos of her plaques, describing her journey as a story of “faith, fire, and history.”

“Our plaques are finally here!!! Two records. Two plaques. One story of faith, fire, and history. Twice, God showed up for me. Twice, we made history for Nigeria,” she wrote.

She added that both records were “two of the biggest culinary records ever set,” achieved in partnership with Gino, and reached over five billion people globally.

Quoting Isaiah 61:7, she reflected, “Instead of shame, you will receive a double portion… and everlasting joy will be yours.”

The jollof rice cookout drew more than 20,000 guests, including food lovers, celebrities, and influencers, with all portions of the meal distributed to attendees and charity groups in compliance with Guinness verification standards.
