Home Affairs Commissioner Admonishes Residents, Civil Servants On Civic Responsibility

By Shina Abubakar

The Commissioner for Home Affairs, Dr. Obawale Adebisi has charged residents of the State of Osun to always discharge their civic duties to the state as a means of boosting its economy in the face of numerous economic challenges facing the nation.

He disclosed this while speaking with Journalists at the annual New Year prayer held to commence the new years at the State Secretariat complex in the state.

He said the state government is not relenting in ensuring that the dividends of democracy get to every nook and cranny of the state with a view to making life more abundant for its citizenry.

He said the people are the pillar from whom the state derives its strength in the face of damning
economic realities in the last two years, craving for more cooperation from them in the new year.

Also, Dr Obawale commended the civil service for the tenacity and cooperation with the state government in the task of building a virile state despite the economic challenges across the country.

He admonished the civil servants in the state to continue to discharge their duties with honesty, integrity and be more committed to making life better for the teeming populace across the state.

According to the commissioner, the present administration in the state would not relent in its effort to transform the state to economic haven where the youth could make their dream a reality, saying the foundation had been laid and would ensure it is a reality.

He added that the major reason the programme is sustained is the believe of the administration in the efficacy of prayers to guide the path of both the residents of the state and its workforce, as well as the teeming political class to always do what is right for the development of the state.

It would be recalled that the state Governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola led other political class, traditional rulers and civil servants on the first working day of the year to pray for peace and tranquility in the New Year before the civil servants return to their respective duty posts.
