Hon. Musliudeen Akinremi, the lawmaker Representing Ibadan North Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives and Chairman House Committee on Science Research Institutes, has knocked the Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde for his inability to tackle insecurity in the State.
Akinremi made the allegation on Sunday while addressing Journalists shortly after a town hall meeting held at Samonda Area of Ibadan City. He highlighted various cases of insecurities in the state since the emergence of Governor Makinde.
Akinremi said the level of Kidnapping, Killings, Attacks on lives and Properties and other strange events in Oyo State presently is beyond human comprehension and this shows the Governor is not doing enough in the area of security, compared with the immediate past Governor, Senator Abiola Ajumobi during his time as Governor.
The APC lawmarker said, “it was unfortunate that our people could no longer enjoy the kind of security they enjoyed while Sen. Ajimobi was the Governor.
“During the time of our former Governor, there’s no part of the state that didn’t enjoyed and experience peace, it is so saddened that we are experiencing this.
“I will not say much, but this is not our dear Oyo before now. I wish them well”.
Akinremi explained that it is part of their duties to assist the state as lawmakers regardless party affiliation because this is all about the people, either APC, PDP or others, it is the people first and we are doing our best in this regard.
Akinremi called on the Governor/PDP to be prepared to hand over power to APC in 2023.
