Hon. Babatunde Emerged New Ondo APC Chairman
A former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Kolawole Babatunde, has emerged as the new Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State.
Babatunde was elected by consensus among delegates, alongside 35 other members of the State Working Committee (SWC), at the party’s congress held at the International Centre for Culture and Events (The Dome), Akure.
A seasoned journalist, Alex Kalejaye, emerged as State Secretary, while Muyide Kayode was elected State Publicity Secretary.
Ondo State Governor, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, urged members to uphold unity, discipline and internal democracy, describing the congress as a reaffirmation of party supremacy and collective responsibility.
He called on members to subordinate personal ambitions to party stability and progress and pledged support for President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda.
In his acceptance speech titled A New Dawn of Unity and Progress, Babatunde pledged transparent, disciplined and inclusive leadership, declaring that internal divisions must end.
He assured members that under his watch, the party would remain united, grassroots-driven and committed to strengthening its structures across the state.
