The office of the Anambra State Vigilante in Amichi, Nnewi South Local Government Area of the state was on Thursday invaded by some yet-to-be-identified hoodlums.
The hoodlums, in their large numbers, were said to have stormed the premises around 7 am, setting ablaze a yet-to-be-identified middle-aged man who was in a vehicle belonging to the AVG operatives.
The reason for the attack could not be fully ascertained as of time of filing this report.
This was also corroborated by a video currently circulating on social media showing the burning vehicle and a voice calling for the state fire service.
The state police spokesman, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, when contacted, confirmed that the attack took place but said the full details were not available yet.
“Yes, the attack took place but the full details are not available yet. Our men are on the scene to bring normalcy to the area. I will call you back please,” Ikenga added.
