A housewife, Aisha Mustapha has been arraigned before the Unguwar Gwaza High Shari’a court, Zamfara State, for alleged aggravated assault on her 12-year-old stepdaughter.
The defendant was taken to court by the Zamfara State Government.
Aisha, a resident of Tsafe town, Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State appeared before the court on Friday.
The Sharia High Court judge, Malam Surajo Usman noted that the court’s documents showed that the accused person had allegedly subjected her stepdaughter to atrocities that made her life miserable.
The judge remanded the defendant in Gusau prison for two weeks.
He subsequently adjourned the case to the 28th of December 2023 for contribution.
