How Police Inspector Allegedly Stabbed Man To Death Over N200 Bribe
A police inspector attached to the Police Mobile Force (PMF), 41 Division, Damaturu in Yobe State, Mohammed Bulama, has been arrested for allegedly stabbing a suspected drug dealer to death.
He was said to have stabbed the deceased over a N200 bribe.
The incident happened at CMC Area, Zango area of Damaturu where the suspect and deceased Abdulmalik Pompomari reportedly fought.
Multiple sources from the area, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the incident occurred on Sunday at about 5:05 pm.
A source alleged that โInspector Mohammed Bulama demanded N200 from Abdulmalik Dauda Galadima at CMC Area, Zango Damaturu.
โWhen Abdulmalik refused, Inspector Bulama assaulted him with a knife, cutting him around the neck and chest, leading to his death.โ
Confirming the incident, the state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Dungus Abdulkarim, said the state Commissioner of Police, Garba Ahmed, has ordered the immediate investigation into the homicide incident.
The Police PRO said the duo were involved in a bitter argument over an uncleared transaction at Zango Area.
He said, โThe dispute escalated into a fight, resulting in Bulama (the inspector) stabbing Dauda (the deceased) on the chest. Bulama also sustained head injuries.

โThe suspect was promptly arrested at the โCโ Divisional police headquarters where he had sought refuge.
โThe State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has commenced investigation and Bulama (suspect) is currently in custody pending internal disciplinary action and prosecution.โ
