Hurricane Obiano Crushes Nwoye, Obaze, 36 Others And Other Interesting Newspaper Headlines Today

Daily Sun had the most dramatic headline in a bid to describe the election result in Anambra. It was revealed that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Governor Willie Obiano winner of the Anambra governorship election held on Saturday, November 17. Obiano polled 234,071 votes to beat Hon. Tony Nwoye, of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who got only 98,752 votes.

Banks and their supervisor, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), have been accused of working to derail the government’s anti- corruption war. The Federal Government and the Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) are querying the double standards allegedly being exhibited by the CBN nad the banks in opposing their effort to ensure strict implementation of the Bank Verification Number (BVN) policy.

Moving from the financial sector and the Bank Verification Policy, The Punch records that Obaze Rejects Obiano’s Victory In Anambra Governorship Poll. The incumbent Government of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano, who is also the candidate of the All Progressive Grand Alliance coasted home with a landslide victory in Saturday’s Anambra Governorship election. Obiano, who won in all 21 local government areas of the state, floored his arch rivals, Tony Nwoye of the All Progressives Congress (Anambra East) and Oseloka Obaze of the Peoples Democratic Party (Ogbaru) in their hometowns.

Anambra: Obiano Re-elected, Clears All 21 LGs In Landslide. According to Nigerian Tribune the incumbent government of Anambra State  and candidate of All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) in the governship election held on Saturday, Chief Willie Obiano, has been declared winner of the election.

Why APGA’s Obiano Won Anambra Governorship Poll heads the Independent today.  A combination of factors aided the victory of Governor Willie of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA)in the Saturday gubernatorial election. Obiano, according to results declared by the State Returning Officer, Prof. Zana Akpagu, Vice Chancellor of the University of Calbar, won in all the 21 local government areas of the state with a total of 234,071 votes.
