I Can’t Wait To Play Football Again, Says Osun United Captain
By Solomon Odeniyi
The Captain of Osun United Football Club, Hakeem Olalere has said that he could not wait for the pandemic to be over for action to resume in the Nigerian National League.
Olalere, in a chat with OSUN DEFENDER on Saturday said for him, life has not been the same since stadiums were shut across the country.
According to him, he is eager to go back to the field to play football, saying that his legs have been craving for action even when he is asleep.
He said: “I never had it mind that stadium will be shut for any reason. We were in the training that very day when the news got to us that markets, stadiums, worship centres had been shut by the government, and we were just looking at each other as if we lost someone.
“Since stadium was shut I cannot go to the stadium to do some exercises. I do the little I can at home, but it can’t be compared with the one we had at the stadium. Honestly life has not been the same again since the stadium was shut. It is not easy for you not to be doing what you know how to do best. I’m just trying to adapt, something like this has never happened to me before.
“There is nothing I enjoy doing better than to play soccer, after that, nothing again. To say the fact I can no longer cope anymore. Sometime, I sleep and my legs will be shaking, things must not continue like this.”
