I Never Introduced Any Herb To Coach Involved In Alleged Sex Scandal – Coach Saka

A table tennis coach at the Osun State Sports Counci, Mr. Saka Suraju, has said he was not in any way involved in the alleged sex scandal involving his colleague, Mr. Yinka Akinrinade, a lawn tennis coach.

Akinrinade, OSUN DEFENDER reports, was alleged to have had the carnal knowledge of a 13 and 14 years old female trainees under him during a competition in Lagos.

Akinrinade who claimed he was unconscious during the alleged acts, in an 18-minute audio obtained by OSUN DEFENDER, had stated that “Coach Saka” recommended a herb for him when he complained of pile, which he took without knowing it was an alcoholic drink.

According to Akinrinade, he met himself naked inside the girls’ hotel room after drinking alcoholic herb, stating that he didn’t know how he got to their room.

However, Akinrinade did not deny nor confirm raping the young girls.

According to findings, the 14-year-old trainee was confirmed pregnant a month after the incident.

But “coach Saka” denied introducing any herb to Akinrinade, stating that he was not in Lagos as at the time of the incident.

He described the incident as unfortunate, stressing that it was not him that recommended the said herbal drink to the alleged assaulter.

He said: “I didn’t recommend anything to Coach Akinrinade. I did not even discuss such with him. The case is rather unfortunate. But, I know nothing about the said herbal drink. I was not even a part of the Lagos competition.”

A telephone conversation between Coach Saka, Akinrinade, and his wife, made available to our correspondent on Friday evening, revealed that Akinrinade and his wife admitted not to have taken any drink from the coach.

Akinrinade, in the conversation, explained that: “I didn’t mention your name at all. You did not give me anything. It was the Handball coach that I saw the herbal drink with in Osogbo, and I asked what it worked for, which he said was pile.

“It was because of pile that I went to get the drink when we got to Lagos. It was when I drank it that I knew it was alcoholic. You never gave me anything.”

Also, Akinrinade’s wife alleged in the conversation that the issues around the sex scandal involving her husband was orchestrated by those who wanted him out of the Sports Council.
