I Saved Khamenei From Death, But He’s Ungrateful – Trump

United States President Donald Trump has claimed that he saved Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, from assassination during the recent Israel-Iran war, accusing him of ingratitude.

Trump made the revelation in a post on his Truth Social platform, blasting Iran for claiming victory in the conflict and warning that America would strike again if Tehran resumed efforts to enrich uranium for nuclear weapons.

He wrote, “I knew EXACTLY where he was sheltered, and would not let Israel, or the U.S. Armed Forces, by far the Greatest and Most Powerful in the World, terminate his life.

“I SAVED HIM FROM A VERY UGLY AND IGNOMINIOUS DEATH, and he does not have to say, ‘THANK YOU, PRESIDENT TRUMP!’”

Trump said he had been working on lifting sanctions as part of peace efforts but abandoned the plan after receiving what he described as a hateful response.

“But no, instead I get hit with a statement of anger, hatred, and disgust, and immediately dropped all work on sanction relief, and more,” he said, adding that Iran should return to the negotiation table.

Khamenei had, in a broadcast message, dismissed the effects of US airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities, saying they were exaggerated.

He said, “The American president exaggerated events in unusual ways, and it turned out that he needed this exaggeration.”

In his first public appearance since the ceasefire, the Iranian leader said, “As a man of great faith, he is not supposed to lie.”

He had earlier told Iranians that the country had achieved “victory” over Israel and dealt the US a “slap,” vowing never to yield to American pressure.

Trump, in a press briefing, was asked whether he would consider another round of airstrikes if the last attacks failed to halt Iran’s nuclear ambitions. He replied, “Sure. Without question. Absolutely.”

He also stated that Iran and its leader “got beat to hell” and described the period as “a great time to end it.”

The verbal clash between both leaders comes as a fragile ceasefire holds between Iran and Israel.
