Ibadan Chieftaincy: Oba Ladoja Promotes Dotun Sanusi, Makinde’s Brother, Six Other Chiefs

The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, on Friday approved the promotion of seven chiefs in the Olubadan chieftaincy line, including prominent businessman and philanthropist, Chief Dotun Sanusi.

According to a statement signed by the monarch’s Chief Press Secretary, Chief Solomon Ayoade, Chief Dotun Sanusi was elevated from Ajia Olubadan to Bada Olubadan.

Other promoted chiefs include Chief Dauda Kolawole Gbadamosi, who rose from Aare Ago to Ayingun Olubadan, while Chief Williams Oyeleke Oyekola moved from Laguna to Aare Ago.

Chief Oluyinka Akande was promoted from Oota to Laguna Olubadan, and Chief Olufemi Olukorede Ogunwale advanced from Aare Egbe Omo to Oota Olubadan.

The statement added that Chief Wasiu Aderoju Aladorin moved from Gbonka to Aare Egbe Omo Olubadan, Chief Olumuyiwa Makinde advanced from Aare Onibon to Gbonka Olubadan, while Chief Abiola Iyiola Anlamole rose from Bada to Aare Onibon Olubadan.

Chief (Hon.) Akinola Alabi was also elevated from Jagun to Ajia Olubadan.

“All the promoted chiefs are from the Olubadan chieftaincy line,” the statement clarified.

The ceremony was attended by top-ranking traditional rulers, including Oba (Barr.) Tajudeen Abimbola Ajibola, Balogun of Ibadanland; Oba Kolawole Adegbola, Otun Balogun; Oba Abiodun Kola-Daisi, Osi Olubadan; Oba Amidu Ajibade, Ashipa Olubadan; Oba Abiodun Azeez, Ashipa Balogun; and High Chief Sarafadeen Abiodun Alli, Ekarun Balogun of Ibadanland.

Business moguls, religious leaders, community stakeholders and other well-wishers were also in attendance.
