Ibadan polytechnic Bans Social Activities On Campus

The Polytechnic of Ibadan has placed embargo on all social activities within the institution over security challenges.
The management of the institution made the announcement through the Registrar, Theresa Fawale in a press statement on Sunday.
She added that all public activities including conferences, seminars and workshops have been suspended.
The registrar noted that the decision was necessary in view of the security situation in the campus.
Fawale, while speaking further, noted that only the ongoing second semester examination is allowed in the institution.
She advised Deans of Faculties, Directors, Heads of Departments, religious bodies, Students’ Union, Students’ Representative Council, staff and members of the public to abide by the directive which takes effect from today.
According to her, “The Authorities of The Polytechnic, Ibadan have suspended all public activities including conferences and seminars and workshops in the Institution and its environment until further notice apart from the ongoing second semester examinations.
“The decision is part of efforts to monitor the security temperature within the Institution and its environment,” the statement read.
“The decision is also part of efforts to curtail and monitor the continued Covid-19 precautions.
“By this, all Deans of Faculties, Directors, Heads of Departments, religious bodies, Students’ Union, Students’ Representative Council, all staff and members of the public are to kindly abide by this directive which takes effect from Sunday, 27th of June, 2021.”
