Ibrahim Chatta In Mourning As Son Dies
Nollywood actor, Ibrahim Chatta, is in mourning following the death of his son.
The 54-year-old film star announced the loss on his Instagram page on Saturday but did not disclose the cause of death.
Posting a photo of his late son, Chatta wrote, “Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un. Ya Allah, You are the Knower of all things. Rest on, Dear son, champ.”
The post drew an outpouring of condolence messages from fans and colleagues in the movie industry.
The tragedy comes just days after veteran actress, Peju Ogunmola, also lost her only son, Ayomikun, who died in Ibadan earlier this week in his early 30s.
Both deaths have thrown Nollywood into mourning, with many expressing shock at the double tragedies.
In June, Chatta had recalled the painful loss of his first child, a daughter, many years ago.
He revealed that financial hardship and lack of medical care led to her death, forcing him to bury her in a wooden Coca-Cola crate after being unable to afford a coffin.
