The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has interrogated a former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters in Osun State, Prince Adebayo Adeleke, over corruption allegations.
Adeleke, popularly known as Banik, confirmed his appearance before the agency in a statement on his Facebook page on Thursday evening.
He wrote, “Today, I honoured the invitation of the ICPC regarding the petitions by Governor Ademola Adeleke’s administration. Ati lo, ati de oh. Wait, more revelations are coming!!”
His invitation comes in the wake of a petition filed by the Osun State Government under Governor Ademola Adeleke, urging the ICPC to investigate the alleged mismanagement of funds allocated for the renovation of Primary Healthcare Centres during the administration of ex-Governor Adegboyega Oyetola.
The Osun State Government had accused Adeleke of benefiting from the contracts awarded for the renovation of healthcare centres across the state.

His name was listed among those whose companies received such contracts.
However, Adeleke has denied any wrongdoing, insisting that he had already resigned from the company mentioned in the petition before the contracts were awarded.
Adeleke has consistently maintained that the current administration is after him for exposing alleged financial infractions under Governor Adeleke’s leadership.
He described the petition as politically motivated, aimed at tarnishing his reputation.
How ICPC Got Involved
The ICPC’s invitation letter was reportedly delivered to Adeleke on March 10, 2024 while he was leaving the premises of a radio station in Osogbo, the state capital.
His media aide, Kazeem Mohammed, who confirmed the development, stated that Adeleke had assured the officials that he would honour the invitation.
Speaking on the development, Mohammed clarified that his principal was not arrested, contrary to some social media speculations.
“He has been invited. Some ICPC officials brought the letter to him when he was about to leave the premises of a radio station in Osogbo this evening. He received the letter and promised to honour it at a later date. Those that brought the letter were very civil. He was not arrested,” Mohammed said.
