The management team of Ife North-West Local Council Development Area, Edunabon, under the leadership of the Executive Secretary, Bangbe Olabisi has commenced the distribution of forms for interest-free loan to youths and women who are residents within the council area.
A statement by the Information Officer of the Council, Adediji Kamorudeen said the prospective beneficiaries of the loan would be petty traders and craftsmen, with a view to boosting their businesses.
Flagging off the distribution of the form, the council boss, according to the statement, reiterated his commitment to the well-being of the people, saying the intention was to productively engage the youths and women in the council area.
The Council Manager, Mrs Elisabeth Olanrewaju who commended the caretaker management team for the gesture, promised unalloyed support of the council staffers in the achievements of its goals.
The Coordinator of the programme, Mr Ojesola Akinwale and his counterpart in the assignment, Maruf, who is the Director of Social and Information Department said the form would be sold for N1,000.
They said the aim of attaching cost to the form was to test the extent of seriousness of the prospective beneficiaries and commit them to mutual agreements of monthly payments, with a view to ensuring that others also benefit from the programme.
