The management, Ifelodun Local Government, Ikirun, led by Alhaji Hammed Omoloye has embarked on the repair of an abandoned tractor in the Local Government with assurance of his administration’s commitment to invest greatly in Agriculture and ensure massive food production.
A statement signed by the Council’s Head of Social Development, Information, Youth, Sport and Cuture, Mr Bukola Elufadejin, said the efforts of the council is being targeted towards fighting hunger among the people.
The Head of Agriculture department, Mr Ademola Ajayi, according to the statement has promised his support to help the vision realised by maintaining and supervising the use of the refurbished equipment.
He later assured members of the public in the local government that the tractor is now available for rent to interested farmers at affordable price. The Council Manager, Alhaja Salam Mojisola expressed her satisfaction on the achievements of the Chairman in other areas such as; fencing of popular Alamisi Market, Ikirun; repair of leaking roof of the Local Government secretariat Complex; clearing and removal of refuse from illegal dumpsites along Ikirun/Osogbo road, Alamisi Market and some strategic locations within the council.
She then enjoined members of the public who may need to hire the tractor to always make proper use of it.
