A Pan-Political group, Dee Osun Monitors has appealed to the boundary dispute resolution Committee set up by the Osun State Government to look into the crisis in Ifon/Ilobu/ Erin-Osun to expedite action and bring lasting peace to the warring communities.

The Coordinator of the group, Prince Jide Akinyooye, in a statement on Friday, also urged the state government to further relax the curfew imposed on the warring communities, noting that it will bring quick socio-economic recovery and boost local businesses.

Akinyooye said finding a lasting solution to the communal crisis will foster community development, promote economic growth, and enhance citizen well-being.

He said, “We are appealing to the committee set up to end the communal crisis between Ilobu, Ifon, and Erin-Osun to expedite action in order to bring lasting peace and development to the affected areas.

“We are also urging the Osun State government to further relax the curfew imposed in Orolu and Irepodun Local Government Areas, given the return of relative peace.

“This will enable quick socio-economic recovery, boost local businesses, and enhance livelihoods. It will also foster community development, promote economic growth and enhance citizen well-being

“It is important to balance security concerns with economic needs and ensuring the well-being of the citizens. This will demonstrate government’s commitment to prioritization of the peoples’ expectations.”
