The Board of Trustee of Igbajo Polytechnic had reiterated its commitment to quality man power development through quality education.
This was contained in a communique issued after the school’s first retreat held at the Yetunde Oyewole Auditorium inside the school premises in Igbajo.
The BoT under the Grand Patronage of the Visitor, HRM Oba Adeniyi Olufemi Fashade endorsed a new vision and mission statements for the Polytechnic which stated that the management will “Strive to attain and maintain a prime position in technical education in Africa” and to “work hard every day as a team to make Igbajo Polytechnic a respected academic, management and community responsive brand.”
The polytechnic which was just ranked by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) as the 1st Private Polytechnic in Nigeria, and 2nd position among Public and Private Polytechnics in Osun State and 25th in the country.
The Retreat also noted with appreciation that the Board has considered the Polytechnic in the 2nd phase of the Open Distant Flexible Learning (ODFL) Programme.
According to the communique, the BoT said, preparation for the 10th Anniversary of the Polytechnic in 2019, the Retreat identified a 5-Point Flagship Plan for the Increase in student enrolment.
The communique Continued that the polytechnic will also focus on provision of entrepreneurship infrastructure towards enhancing internally generated revenue for the Polytechnic and also improve security of the Polytechnic.
The body said, one of its focus point is upgrading of the Power Supply of the institution and also the improvement in the access road (Ada-Igbajo).
The Retreat appreciated the sustained efforts of the Stakeholders for their support to the Polytechnic and charged the Management to reciprocate by their rededication towards making Igbajo Polytechnic a pride in Africa.
The governing body now urged both federal government and state government to look into road lead to the polytechnic home saying governments should look into reconstructing the road.
