Igbajo Polytechnic To Become University

The authority of Igbajo polytechnic has concluded plans to upgrade the institution into a university.
According to a member of the school BoT, Oluomo Sunday Akere, the school authority have applied to the National University Commission (NUC) seeking its approval to convert the school to a degree awarding Institution.
He disclosed that the school will kick-off with faculties of social sciences, Humanities, Administration, Engineering, and Science.
According to him the community is doing everything necessary to attract the best of education for its people and those willing to come to the town for quality education.
He added all logistics are in place to ensure that the university takes off without any hitch.
He also added that arrangements have been put in place to ensure that the present crops of student are taken care of and ensure that their programmes are not disrupted.
Some of the indigenes of community applauded the management of the school for the giant strides it has been pulling since the inauguration of the first community based polytechnic in the country.
The Lokiran of Igbajo expressed satisfaction with the development in the school within the time frame of its establishment, commending individuals that have been directing activities on the school.
According to Barrister Bukola Onifade, an indigene of the town, the move is a welcome development and it will endear development to the community and its environs.
