The ancient city of Yoruba land, Ile Ife has begun to a wear new look as the Federal Government has continued the rehabilitation of roads in the city.
Earlier, residents and commuters had thought the rehabilitation is only to be done at Mayfair road, but were shocked as works have gone beyond Mayfair, moving towards Lagere- Sabo road in Ile Ife.
The renovation and upgrading of the roads have boosted business and economic activities in Ile Ife.
According to a worker of the road project who craved anonymity said that “Massive road rehabilitation across Ile Ife has already been embarked upon and we would like to assure the public that all road corridors across the city will be touched.”
“At the moment, areas already covered include Mayfair road to Lagere and we are moving towards Sabo road too. ”
He said concerted efforts were on to rehabilitate failed portions of roads across the metropolis, with a pledge to aggressively fix potholes in coming days.
