Members of staff of Ilesa West-Central Local Council Development Area have received accolades on their commitment to duty, especially in the area of Internally Generated Revenue.
The Chairman of the council, Honourable Folarin Fafowora gave the commendations last Friday when the executive members of the council’s chapter of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employers (NULGEE), celebrated a year of steering the affairs of the union.
The event which was held at the council’s secretariat in Ilesa, saw members of staff of the local government showering encomiums on the leadership of the Union, led by Engr. Owolabi Oyeleye.
Fafowora, while speaking expressed satisfaction with the way members of the union have been going about their duties and their massive achievements of the NULGE executive so far.
He added that he was always elated anytime he sees how the welfare of Local Government workers are being adequately taken care of despite the financial challenges in the state, saying, this has been responsible for the peace and improved productivity among the council staff.
Fafowora said members of the union under Owolabi-led administration have been proactive in increasing the Internally Generated Revenue, which has made the council to be the second LCDA with the highest IGR in Osun.
He also lauded the NULGE executive for the facilitation of a befitting administrative block and maintenance of peace and order in the LCDA known to be volatile.
The NULGE chairman, Engr. Owolabi Oyeleye said it was necessary to celebrate with members of the union who have put much in place for the smooth running of the union which he is privilege to head.
He added that during the event of this nature, blessings could be counted, while attentions would be drawn to mistakes made for possible amendment.
The NULGE boss then enjoined all members of the union to continue giving their supports to the union and his administration, saying it is only through this that the council can get to an enviable height.
However, gifts were presented to appreciate outstanding members of the union.
