I’ll Never Be Open About My Political Choice Again – Toyin Abraham Says Amid Backlash Over Tinubu

Popular Nigerian actress, Toyin Abraham has vowed never to reveal her political inclinations again following a series of backlash on social media for supporting Bola Tinubu in the 2023 elections.

Recall the actress was very vocal about her support for the All Progressive Congress, APC presidential candidate in the last general elections.

Following Tinubu’s inauguration as the president of Nigeria, Abraham wrote an open letter reaffirming her support for him.

Also, last week, Seyi, Tinubu’s son, assured Abraham of his loyalty to her just as she is to his dad.

However, the actress faced fresh criticism on Tuesday after an X user inquired if she would someday share the president’s plans with the public.

“Maybe one day Toyin Abraham will divulge the plans Bola Tinubu shared with her to the public,” the user asked.

“I strongly believe we deserve to hear. Thank u @toyin_abraham1.”

Responding, Abraham said, “Of course, I was told and promised good governance and happiness for everyone and I believed.

“If things didn’t go well why do I have to be the one to suffer for it? Because I remember I voted for Jonathan and I was bullied but I didn’t blame anyone after everyone chose Buhari. So please why would they be cursing and trolling me every time?

Subsequently, the user asked if she believed her candidate had failed at the moment in governance, Abraham, while dodging the question, said she had learnt her lesson never to be open with her political affiliation.

“I have faced my life and career cos I am not a politician and I’m not in government, I have learnt my lesson never ever to be open with my choice again,” the actress wrote.
