Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, on Monday, stated that he is closely following events within the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Oyo State.

Wike explained that his attention to the situation is rooted in his concern for the continued existence and strength of the party, which previously governed at the federal level.

He made this known in Abuja while addressing attendees at the PDP’s 105th factional National Executive Committee meeting.

According to him, his ongoing observation of developments in the Oyo State chapter is motivated by his commitment to seeing the party thrive.

“Let me declare my interest clearly: I am interested in the survival and success of this party. I am also interested in all the happenings in Oyo State PDP. That is all I am interested in,” he said.

Wike also rejected allegations that PDP members were facing intimidation, insisting that such claims no longer held water following recent judicial outcomes.

“Who will intimidate us to the end? Some of us, by the grace of God, do not see what anyone can threaten us with.

“The legal battle has collapsed. They have no option but to recognise the Caretaker Committee,” Wike said.
