Imam Olododo Was An Unadulterated Face Of Islam In Yorubaland – Oluwo
The Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, has described the late Chief Imam of Iwoland, Sheik AbdulFatahi Olododo, as an unadulterated face of Islam in Yorubaland who upheld the incontrovertible leading status of Iwo in Islamic history.
In a condolence message by his press secretary, Alli Ibraheem, on Friday in Iwo, the monarch said the death of the Chief Imam was a colossal loss to the Muslim Community.
Oba Akanbi also commiserated with Fojugbagi compound of Iwoland, Oluwo Central Mosque and the entire Muslim Community of Yorubaland over the demise of the late Islamic cleric.
Oluwo added that his stance on fairness as thought by the Islamic culture produced Olododo as the Chief Imam, promising to continue toeing the path of honour in managing the mosque.
According to him, “I mourn the death of the Chief Imam of Iwoland, Sheik AbdulFatahi Olododo. His demise is a colossal loss to Islam. I commiserate with Oluwo Central Mosque, Fojugbagi Compound, Iwoland and the entire Muslim Community in Yorubaland.
“Iwo has a unique Islamic history. The reign of Olododo was firm in upholding the Islamic status of Iwo. He was an unadulterated face of Islam.
“He became the Chief Imam on fairness. Many worked against his choice but I stood with truth. I will continue to toe the path of honour in making any appointment.
“I pray to God to forgive his shortcomings and grant him Aljana Firdaus.”
