The Secretary to the Imo state government, Uche Onyeagocha has called on Igbos to push more for the creation of the sovereign state of Biafra.
He urged the Igbo elites in the country to join hands with people like him to push for a referendum so that the Biafran agitation can become a reality.
The Imo SSG explained that efforts of successive governments in the country have neglected the Igbo federation in developing the country noting that this neglect has contributed in a negative way to the development of the region.
He said there is no law that forbids the Biafran flag from being hanged in places in Nigeria as there is no law that forbids it in the 1999 constitution.
Onyeagocha called for a referendum to actualise the Biafra independence struggle adding that “if the referendum fails, I will commit suicide.”
