Indrive Driver Allegedly Assaults Lady Over Joke of Deducting AC Money
A Nigerian lady has accused an Indrive driver of assaulting her over a joke about deducting “AC money” from her fare, claiming the air conditioning was unavailable during the ride.
In a detailed post on TikTok, she narrated her ordeal, explaining that she had initially refused to continue with the ride after the driver informed her that his air conditioner was faulty.
However, she reconsidered after he complained about the fuel he had already used to pick her up.
As they neared her estate, she jokingly suggested deducting part of the fare since the AC was not working.
According to her, the driver did not take it lightly, and the situation quickly escalated into an argument.
She alleged that the driver suddenly stopped the car, got out, and began shouting at her.
Despite her attempts to calm him down and proceed with the payment, he allegedly slapped her twice.
Shocked by the attack, she retaliated, leading to a scuffle in which the driver reportedly pushed her, grabbed her wig, and attempted to drive off.
In a desperate move, she ran to the estate security post and asked the guards to lock the gate to prevent him from escaping.
However, she claimed the driver tried to run her over with his vehicle before stepping out to hit her directly in the face.
She later went to the police station to report the incident, only to discover that the driver had arrived before her and accused her of refusing to pay and damaging his car.
According to her, the officer handling the case initially dismissed it as a case of “two fighting” despite her visible injuries.
She expressed frustration over how the matter was handled, alleging that the driver was eventually released after a female officer advised her to accept an apology instead of pursuing justice.
Angered by the turn of events, she shared the driver’s phone number online and called out both him and @indriver.ng on Instagram, claiming the company ignored her complaints until social media users started tagging them.
Her story has since sparked outrage, with many calling for Indrive to take action against the driver.
Some social media users also demanded that she reveal his identity to ensure he faces consequences for his actions.
