The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has said that the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) Won’t Participate In the Anambra Governorship Election slated for November 2021.
The commission said the party’s disqualification followed the party’s violation of the Electoral Act by failing to comply with Section 85 of the Act.
According to INEC, APGA did not notify it when it purportedly held its ad hoc congress to elect delegates for the party’s governorship primary.
Mr. Festus Okoye, INEC’s National Commissioner in charge of Publicity and Voter Education, in a statement, insisted that parties must act within the confines of the law in the conduct of their congresses and primaries if they are to avoid issues and challenges that may complicate the conduct of elections.
