Infrastructure: Adeleke Should Remember Erin, Ifon, Ilobu Communities – IPU Secretary

Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has been urged to beam his infrastructure searchlight on the people of Irepodun and Orolu Local Governments.

The local governments, which comprise Ifon, Ilobu, and Erin-Osun, were also seeking infrastructural projects that are being enjoyed by other communities in the state.

In an open letter to Adeleke by the Secretary of Ifon-Orolu Progressive Union Board Of Trustees, Prince Jide Akinyooye, the communities urged the Governor to extend his administration’s infrastructural development to their local governments also

The letter urged the Governor to help in dualising the Lameco Junction road to Oyo and Osun boundary in Ifon- Osun, adding that doing so will facilitate economic growth, improve safety, and reduce travel time.

The letter read, “I would like to seize this medium to commend the administration of His Excellency, Asiwaju Nurudeen Jackson Ademola Adeleke for his numerous achievements within the last two years of his leadership as the executive Governor of Osun State.

“There is no doubt that the incumbent administration has made indelible footprint on various infrastructural projects in Osogbo, Ede, Iwo, Ikirun, Iléṣà, Ile-Ife among other places in Osun State. Also, it is crystal clear that our performing Governor is already making frantic efforts to complete all ongoing projects before the commencement of political campaign for his 2nd term.

“May I seek the indulgence of the Governor to let him understand that the people of Irepodun / Orolu State Constituency (which comprises of Ifon, Ilobu and Erin-Osun) are envious of the developmental projects being carried out in other towns. We are requesting our performing leader to please extend your hands of infrastructural development to our local governments/towns by dualizing the Lameco Junction road to Oyo and Osun boundary in Ifon- Osun; we urge you to make this project become a reality under your leadership.

“This strategic road project will not only enhance connectivity between Osun and Oyo States but also facilitate economic growth, improve safety, and reduce travel time. The dualization of this critical road will also have a positive impact on the lives of residents in both Orolu and Irepodun Local Government areas and surrounding communities.

“In light of recent boundary disputes between Ifon-Orolu and Ilobu communities, this project can serve as a catalyst for peace and development in the region. By investing in this critical infrastructure, your administration can demonstrate its commitment to promoting economic growth, peace, and prosperity in Osun State.

“Notwithstanding the fact that Osogbo/Ifon – Ogbomoso Road is a trunk A (federal road; we strongly believe that this project aligns with your administration’s vision for a more developed and prosperous Osun State. Once again, we look forward to seeing this project become a reality under your leadership. Importantly, we are eager on your commitment that this will be one of your major priorities in your 2nd term in office if same cannot be embarked before 2026.”
