Injured Awoniyi Ruled Out For Rest Of Season

Nigerian striker Taiwo Awoniyi has been ruled out for the rest of the season after suffering a thigh injury.
According to top Belgian football expert John Chapman, the 20-year-old former Golden Eaglets striker,  who is on loan from English Premier League side Liverpool, will play no part in Royal Excel Mouscron’s remaining Belgian First Division A Europa League play-off games.
He tweeted via his handle @BelgoFoot: “Taiwo Awoniyi, Mouscron’s Nigerian striker on loan from Liverpool will miss the rest of the season due to thigh injury. #lfc.”
The former Nigeria U-17, U-20 striker had scored twice in four Belgian play-offs games for Royal Excel Mouscron prior to this setback.

So far this season, the Liverpool loanee has scored 10 goals in 31 appearances, providing seven assists.
Awoniyi has missed Mouscron’s last two fixtures, his last appearance coming on 8 April in the 2-1 against Kortrijk in which he scored.
Royal Excel Mouscron will face Leuven in their next game on Saturday.
Awoniyi has also been linked with a move to Club Brugge and Anderlecht after the expiration of his loan deal.
