Kaduna Governor Nasir El-Rufai has stated that bandits and terrorists tormenting the country have all lost their right to life and should be wiped out.
He spoke at the town hall meeting on national security hosted by the Ministry of Information and Culture in Kaduna with the theme “Setting benchmarks for enhanced security and national unity in Nigeria”.
El-Rufai stressed the current security situation calls for national consensus as Nigeria is at war.
The Governor also joined the call for the decentralisation of the police, saying that the time has come for state police.
The Governor also pushed for decentralisation of management and ownership of mineral resources.
He stressed it is time for restructuring of the country.
On the judiciary, the Governor said the long duration of prosecution encourages the current security situation, saying bandits and criminals prefer being taken to court as they have believe they will soon be freed.
Mohammed, who led the Federal Government delegation to Kaduna, said insecurity and its manifestations pose dangerous threats to unity and continued existence as one indivisible nation.
He also called for consensus among elites to work out solutions.
