Women in the State of Osun on Wednesday sought God’s intervention on the insecurity challenges plaguing the state and the country.
The women, led by the Wife of the Governor of the State of Osun, Mrs Kafayat Oyetola, interceded for divine help in battling the challenges.
In her address at the event, Mrs Oyetola who is also the Chairperson of the Southern Governors’ Wives Forum, said the prayer session was part of the contributions of the Nigeria Governors’ Wives Forum to make the nation great again.
She said, “The problem of insecurity has continued to assume various dimension and they are dimension which affect every aspect of our daily living.
“This development has raised concern for every Nigerian. This is the reason why we the Nigeria Governors’ wives forum (NGWF) has
resolved to have this
country wide programme of prayer.
“We all need to approach the almighty God to urgently change the direction of event in our nation to make us all great again.”
The Osun First Lady admonished Nigerians to change their approach and behaviour towards the issue of nationhood and affairs of their communities, state and the country as a whole.
She said: “It is also pertinent at this junction to call on each one of us to begin to change our approach to issue of nationhood.
“We must start the cause of the behaviour change, let us change our attitude in relation to one and other, in relation to community affairs, in relation to our State affairs, and in relation to our national affairs.”
In attendance at the event held at the Government House, Osogbo were women from across religious beliefs, wives of top government functionaries and political appointees, women in politics, market women association, among others.
