Insecurity: Ooni Calls For Collaboration Among Security Agencies
The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, has charged security agencies to collaborate in tackling the security challenges facing the country.
Oba Ogunwusi gave the charge on Thursday when he received the new Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Osun State Command, Dr. Akintayo Adaralewa.
The monarch noted that with strong collaboration, security operatives would be able to tackle insecurity as an indivisible entity, noting that no single security agency can do the work alone.
The monarch who acknowledged the peaceful atmosphere in Osun State, said traditional rulers in the state will always support security agents to make the state safer.
Earlier in his address, Commandant Adaralewa explained that his visit to the monarch was to seek guidance, pay homage, and receive royal blessings and support in the task ahead.
โโKabiyesi, I am elated to be in your palace today, it’s a dream come true, I am here to ask you to support me like you did to my predecessors through which they succeededโโ. Adaralewa said
While highlighting his agenda for the state, Adaralewa assured Ooni of improved security of lives and property, saying his administration would pay more attention to the issue of the farmers/herders crisis in the state.
He also reiterated the corps’s commitment to fighting the scourge of insecurity in the country.
He, however, solicited credible intelligence from members of the public to assist in the fight against crime and criminals.
