The Governor of the state of Osun, Mr. Gboyega Oyetola on Monday held a meeting with security chiefs in the state.
The meeting that lasted for hours was attended by security agencies from the operatives of the Police, Army, Air Force, Department of State Security (DSS), The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency ( NDLEA) and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
The essence of the meeting was to develop a strategy and way forward on reported infiltration of the state by herdsmen operations, banditry, kidnapping, cultism, communal clashes, armed robbery, and other security matters.
Other discussed issues at the Monday meeting between the State government and security agencies were security concerns caused by artisanal miners, proliferation of arms and ammunition, increase in accident cases, union crisis and schools protection.
The security Council meeting chaired by Governor Oyetola took place at the state Government House, Oke-Fia, Osogbo.
The meeting also had on board: Deputy Governor Benedit Olugboyega Alabi, Secretary to the State Government, Chief of Staff, Deputy Chief of Staff, some members of the executive cabinet, special advisers and duty commanders attached to the State.
