The Natural Paramount Ruler of Iwoland, HIM Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, has tasked the Southwest Governors to provide surveillance on our forest being use as hideouts by kidnappers.
He condemned the recent kidnappings on major roads in South Western Nigeria, saying the concerned governors should collaborate to provide surveillance aircraft to comb criminal hideouts in our forests.
He disclosed the heavy forest is a lubricating factor for kidnapping, praying Governors of Lagos, Osun, Oyo, Ogun, Ekiti and Ondo States to harmonized interest to dismantle the hideouts for criminals ”
Oba Akanbi enjoined the governors of the 6 western states to collectively launch the Surveillance with a view of chasing kidnappers out of our zone.
He equally called on residents to be security conscious, saying checkmating insecurity is a collective assignment.
“Fighting insecurity is a collective assignment. The residents should not leave everything in the hands of government. Where we are today is the responsibility of all and sundry. Finding solution to it should also be collective. Residents must be security conscious”
“The spates of kidnapping on our highways has to be checkmated. Thick forests on highways are hideouts for the perpetrators. It gives them an easy ride for a successful kidnapping operation”
“One of the best solutions is to provide surveillance aircraft to comb our forests. I enjoin the governors of Lagos, Osun, Oyo, Ogun, Ekiti and Ondo States to harmonized interest and fight this menace together just has they did in the formation of Amotekun”
“As a monarch with keen interest in the affairs of my people whose lives are paramount to me, I appeal to the Chief security officers of the southwestern states to consider this option of surveillance aircraft “
