New Nigeria Peoples Party has described an interactive session with Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, organised by the state government tagged ‘Ipade Imole’ as mere jamboree and waste of state resources.
Osun Defender reports that the second edition of ‘Ipade Imole’ took place at Oba Aromolaran Civic Center, Ilesa, on Tuesday.
NNPP observed how a supposedly interactive programme with the citizens was turned into a PDP family meeting.
The party chairman in Osun, Dr. Tosin Odeyemi, while speaking with newsmen in Osogbo on Wednesday, challenged the state government to disclose the amount expended on the programme.
Odeyemi said it was disheartening that at this time that economic hardship is hitting Nigerians hard, the Adeleke-led state government would venture into such a valueless programme.
He said, “The expectation was that the state governor will reel-out his achievements and give ample time for people to ask questions.
“But we were disappointed that nothing of such happened, instead, they allowed only those that have been tutored to ask petty questions at the gathering.
“We wish to sound a note of warning to Mr Governor and his handlers to stop wasting our resources, if he wants a real feedback from people, he should go on live radio station programme where people will be able to ask him questions on the way he is paddling the affairs of Osun.”
