A suspected bisexual simply identified as Olayinka was on Sunday, June 20, 2021, attacked by some members of an Islamic group known as Jama’at al-Tabligh.

Olayinka, according to sources, was attacked at his residence in Ataoja Estate, Osogbo, by some members of the Islamic group around 7 pm.

He was said to be returning from work.

Asked why he was attacked, an eye witness who identified himself as Taofeek Babawale, said he overheard the assailants threatening to kill their victim if he continued with his bisexual acts.

“I think the victim has involved himself in homosexual activities. I overhead the attackers, who are these Islamic groups that wear above-ankle trousers, telling him to desist from the immoral act of bisexuals or they will kill him. The attackers said he (the victim) was disgracing Islam”, said Babawale.

Findings by OSUN DEFENDER revealed that Olayinka is a health worker with the Osun State University Teaching Hospital, formerly known as Ladoke Akintola University Teaching Hospital (LAUTECH).

It was gathered that the assailants, after beating Olayinka with clubs, pushed him inside an uncovered pit. They reportedly fled the scene after.

The victim, according to the eye witness, could no longer walk by himself and his neck was static when he was rescued.

Babawale said: “That man was seriously injured. He could no longer walk nor move his body again; he was seriously in pain when we rescued him. Five of us brought him out from the pit he was thrown into before taking him to the hospital. I don’t know why he involved himself in such acts, he knows his religion (Islam) does not support homosexuality, bisexualism, and all the nonsense. I pray he survives the attack.”

OSUN DEFENDER traced the victim to the hospital where he was receiving treatment in Osogbo, on Wednesday, June 23.

The medium could not disclose the name of the hospital because of security concerns.

However, the victim was sighted on the bed in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital.

It was noted that the victim could not talk as of the time this medium visited the hospital.

But a relative of another patient at the ICU told OSUN DEFENDER that a spinal cord surgery was performed on the victim before he was moved to the ICU.
