‘Isn’t It Supposed To Be Wednesday And Thursday?’ Mixed Reactions Trail FG’s Declaration Of Public Holiday For Eid-El-Fitr
Several reactions have trailed the Federal Government’s declaration of Tuesday and Wednesday as a public holidays to mark the Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
Osun Defender recalls that the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, had made in a statement by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Aishetu Ndayako declared Tuesday, 9th and Wednesday, 10th April 2024, as public holidays to mark the Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
The public holiday is in commemoration of a successful end of the 2024 Ramadan fast.
However, some Nigerians have taken to the X platform to question the decision of the government as some of them expressed opinion that the sallah holiday should have been Wednesday and Thursday, instead of Tuesday and Wednesday declared by the government.
